NASHVILLE
- After
an eighteen-year run with WDKN in Dickson, Tennessee, "Crazy Chucky"
Dauphin is going south…well, at least 30 miles! Starting on
Thursday,
April 9, the radio personality will bring his knowledge of the history
of Country Music to Hickman County, as "Crazy Chucky's Classic Country
Corner" premieres at 1pm on WNKX / Country Kix 96.7 in Centerville, TN.
The two hour weekly program will feature classic performances ranging
from the 1950s through the 1990s, and will also feature interviews with
some of the artists that made the songs famous.
"I have enjoyed
a long friendship with Steve Turner, as well as Mickey and Sheila, and
I am honored to be a part of the programming of Kix 96. The station has
long had a commitment to serving Hickman County, and I'm excited to be
a part of that tradition. I have deep family roots here, and I'm very
proud to be on the air in Centerville," said Dauphin.
The
show
will be somewhat different than most oldies shows, Dauphin adds. "You
are going to hear a lot of songs that you know. That's a given, but I
will also be featuring a few songs that you may have never heard of
before. Also, if a song was released in the 90s, it could qualify as a
classic, as well." The show will also feature guests from Dauphin's
vast library of interviews. "I hope that all the listeners from the
area will tune in to Kix 96 on Thursday afternoons and join me," he
said.
